As the name suggests, the 2021 Bentley Flying Spur V8 is a V-8-powered-Version of the third-generation full-size sedan. The 2021 Flying Spur V8 was introduced a year after the W-12 model was closed and is essentially a slightly more dynamic and efficient alternative to the range-topping four-door.
This is a lighter, more driver-focused version of its flagship luxury car, and the world is shifting as we speak. Much like the Rolls-Royce and its latest ‘post opulent’ second-gen Ghost, Bentley saw a change in the way customers use their expensive luxury cars. As it turns out, more and more Bentley buyers prefer to drive themselves, which is why Bentley gave the Flying Spur V8 a more agile set of bones.
Interior
Luxurious leather, real wood decorations and real metal accents line the interior of the Flying Spur. There is plenty of space in the front or back for adults to stretch out and enjoy the luxurious surroundings. Bentley interior designers have managed to maintain the brand’s premium and precise style while incorporating modern technological features.
A remote touchscreen controller on the back of the center console allows drivers in the rear seats to adjust certain settings without asking the driver for help. You can use it to open and close blinds, adjust the cabin climate and activate rear seat massagers. Oversized luggage offers plenty of space for luggage, champagne boxes or the daily impulse shopping on Rodeo Drive.
Engine

With a lighter V8 engine under its bulky hood, this V8 model is 100kg lighter than the Flying Spur W12 model. And even with fewer cylinders and a smaller displacement, the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine remains a force to be reckoned with. It produces 542 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. More importantly, the maximum torque reaches just under 2,000 rpm.
With the help of a standard eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive, Bentley can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph. The V8 engine is equipped with cylinder deactivation technology to maximize fuel consumption by up to 16 percent.
