The familiar shape of the S-Class changes into a new look. Its slim profile is well known and hides the fact that the new car is slightly larger (and longer and wider with a stretchable wheelbase) than the old S-Class. The biggest change is the almost complete removal of wrinkles from the metal: the S-Class now relies on the surface and the way light is reflected off its soft curves. The flush door turns the engine off when the door needs to be opened and gives the S-Class the look of a concept car.
For the first time, buyers have three trim levels: luxury, AMG and executive. Prices start at $ 110,850 for the luxury version of the S500 and $ 117,350 for the S580. Note that these two numbers include the mandatory destination charge of $ 1,050. The cheapest version of the 2020 S-Class is the S450 rear-wheel drive, which starts at $ 95,300 including the cost for the same destination charge.
Interior

The interior of the 2021 S-Class is a dramatic combination of traditional luxury materials and cutting edge digital technology, supported by a modernist scheme that makes the cabins of the current BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 look very dated. The 2021 model does not compromise on comfort, technology or design. So if you are used to the luxury of the S-Class, you will not be disappointed with the latest version.
The heart of the S-Class cabin is a large central screen, which is designed and aligned in such a way that the gap between landscape and portrait format screens is closed. For the sleek new controls and touchscreen, there are other ways to play around with the settings. The “Hey Mercedes” assistant supports 27 languages and hand gestures are more strongly supported so that the driver can operate the sunroof.
Engine

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 producing 496 horsepower and 516 pound-feet. The V-8 rarely increases its voice even though it delivers strong acceleration. In the most aggressive Sport Plus dynamic setting (a mode that pretty much contradicts the character and purpose of the S-Class), the engine stayed hushed under all but stamped-throttle progress. And even then, the V-8 sounded distant and muted.
The driving mode enable the personalities of the powertrain from Eco to Comfort, Sport, Sport + and Individual and also selects the suspension behavior. In addition to its new mild-hybrid powertrain, the 2021 S-Class will have a revised chassis with a wider track – up to two inches – for more stability.
